Lavendr’s Favorite Ads of 2023

“Love, Your Mind” — by Huntsman Mental Health Institute from The Ad Council

The reason I love this ad is because it has the perfect ingredients! This campaign draws it’s inspiration straight from mental health data, features great creative, a thought-provoking headline, and a collaboration that speaks to each audience. I loved it so much I broke each part down — check it out!

“Second First Kiss”— from eos by Mischief @ No Fixed Address

Who doesn’t love a little nostalgia?! Nostalgic ads act like time-machines transporting us iconic moments that play on universal themes many of us relate to — like our first kiss.

In “Second First Kiss”, Mischief at No Fixed Address captures nostalgia perfectly by staging a series of recreations of first-kisses. Everything from the set, the interviews, the diversity, the vulnerability screams “teen angst”! As a recovering angsty teen, I feel seen.

But this ad’s not just a fun short-film, it’s brand positioning itself as relevant. Through the tagline “Keeping your lips smooth since before you knew how to use them. eos” the brand’s communicating how they are growing-up alongside their customer.

Kisses to the Mischief at No Fixed Address team — ya killed it.

“Art Gives Me Feelings” - from Peggy by Sandwich

“This ad was truly captivating...and that's hard to pull off in a long form ad! The storytelling was immaculate, the acting was engaging, and the shots were unique. Sandwich does it again!

Gabby O’keefe, Project Lead @ Lavendr

“Thank a Vaccine - ” - from the Wyoming Department of Health by Sukle

This ad is so fun, humorous, and engaging. It made me giggle. It educated me. It made me want to ensure I was up-to-date on my tetanus shot. More than anything, it made me thankful that we live in a world with Public Health experts, vaccines, and the medical technology that we have. This ad really did everything it was supposed to.
